Non-Violent Communication
Before the year even started, we were already working as a team to learn more about Non-Violent Communication. Non-violent communication is important in a Montessori school because it helps create a peaceful, respectful community where children feel heard and understood. By modeling and practicing kind, empathetic language, teachers and students learn to express their needs clearly while also considering the feelings of others. This supports conflict resolution in a calm and constructive way, allowing children to build strong social and emotional skills. In keeping with Montessori principles, non-violent communication empowers children to take responsibility for their interactions and fosters a classroom culture of cooperation, respect, and compassion.
