What parents are saying about the school.

  • "We wanted to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to move to back to Germany. It has not been an easy choice for us, as we truly love both the school and Barcelona. The years we've spent here have been incredibly enriching, and it is hard to say goodbye – though we hope this might not be a farewell forever. We are very happy to share that the children have been accepted into the European School in our town. Thanks to the excellent English level they have developed during their time with you, they will be able to join the English section instead of the usual mother-tongue (German) section. This is quite exceptional, as the standard practice in European Schools is to provide instruction in the child's native language. In fact, a teacher at the new school even told me that, academically, our son is well ahead of the German children who will be starting Primary this autumn – a true testament to your school and the Montessori approach. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful time we had with you and for everything the children have learned and experienced. With warmest regards and many thanks again."

  • "My experience at Barcelona Montessori School with my children has been extraordinary. For the past six years, both we and our children have felt deeply supported by every member of the team, from the management to the teachers. This school has not only provided an exceptional educational environment, but has also cultivated a community where support and collaboration are essential. In my numerous classroom observations, the innate curiosity and enthusiasm the children show for learning and working stood out. Each one progresses at their own pace, exploring their individual interests, always under the watchful and encouraging eye of the guides. This personalised approach has allowed my children to feel empowered and motivated to take on new challenges. The atmosphere at Barcelona Montessori School is distinguished by its serenity, respect and fairness. Here, there is no need for grades, positive or negative evaluations; the focus is on the integrity of the child. Teachers work tirelessly to foster responsibility, independence and self-confidence, providing each student with the essential tools for their holistic development. I especially appreciate the school's commitment to balancing emotional development with the acquisition of fundamental knowledge and skills. Barcelona Montessori School has proven to be a place where each child's individuality is valued, while ensuring a solid foundation for their future success. In summary, I am grateful for the quality education and enriching environment that Barcelona Montessori School has provided for my children. I highly recommend this institution to parents who are looking for a unique educational experience focused on the holistic development of their children."

  • “Our kids could only experience BMS for one year one and we miss BMS a lot and we wish we could have had more time with the school. We really do think BMS is unparalleled. We really appreciated how the school involved parents, all the learning opportunities and especially how serious BMS take Montessori and how serious they take each and every child, their individual development and also their families. Our children really thrived during their time at BMS in all aspects of life. Academically, personally, in the fields of art, friendship, communication etc”

    — Eva Stuebner

  • “Our son is in his fourth year at BMS and we are genuinely very happy with the experience. He is delighted to go into school every day (we’re lucky if we get a goodbye from him!). His guides are, and always have been, experienced and knowledgeable and yet understand perfectly what it is to be an energetic child! As parents we have seen the school grow and develop enormously in the time we’ve been here. The owners of the school are involved, approachable and down-to-earth. Our questions have always been dealt with quickly and well. We feel fortunate that our child is experiencing education in this positive and purposeful environment, where the child is an important part of the community rather than simply a receptacle of knowledge and facts. There are multiple opportunities to observe our child’s class, be shown around the classroom and attend parenting talks and sessions about aspects of the Montessori method each year, and because of these events we feel like a part of the community too, which is important as parents.”

    — Julia Barker

  • “I couldn’t think of a better school for my kids. We wanted a school with a nurturing environment for our children to thrive in, and it was important for us to find a Montessori school. Both my 2yo and 5yo daughters enjoy going to school every morning. BMS was (and still is) our first and only choice!"

    — Lou Cabrolie

  • "I want to thank the entire BMS team and especially Tim and Abi in person for the incredible humanity and support showed to us and our children in this difficult time. Our two girls, ages five and ten, joined easily into the great prepared montessori space and found new friends! Muchísimas gracias!!"

    — Alexey Lositsky

  • "This is a school with an exceptional teaching methodology, a strong community of families, professionals, and children. There is a beautiful garden where the children play in the afternoons, which is the best part of the day. The guides are very friendly and always find a way to help the children reach their goals. The Montessori method is an ideal model for learning through play and the freedom the child feels to do things independently and without fear."

    — Maddi Bartolome

  • "It's amazing to be part of this community. I always felt like I had a second chance to learn after starting over from scratch with my two girls. This is the best place to be for your children to learn and grow, and it’s a beautiful space to be in. The staff is incredible and always makes you feel welcome. The variety of activities available for the children is amazing."

    — Eustaquio De La Torre

  • "An excellent school—the guides (as Montessori teachers are called), the leadership team, and the rest of the staff make children's learning happen in a natural, spontaneous, curious, and enjoyable way. The facilities and classrooms are also very well cared for and thoughtfully designed to invite children to discover and explore their environment. We are very happy with our experience at Barcelona Montessori School, where our eldest daughter is enrolled, and soon our little one will be joining too. Thank you, Abi, Tim, and the whole team for making it possible!"

    — Laura Perelló

  • "My son has been attending the school since he was 2 years old, first in Nido and now in Primary at BMS. He and his little friends go to school every day with such joy and enthusiasm that it’s hard to describe. The Montessori guides and assistants are AMI-certified, and the work they’re doing to ensure the children experience and enjoy a trilingual education based on the British curriculum adapted to Montessori is truly admirable. It’s inspiring to see Montessori pedagogy and positive discipline fully in action, but what matters most is that the children are truly at the centre of their own learning, and each child’s pace is respected without compromising the rigour of knowledge acquisition."

    — Patricia Torres

  • "We’ve been a founding family since Nido was created and have continued with Tim and Abi at BMS. My son has been learning at the school for 7 years with the Montessori method, and my daughter for 5. We’ve watched the project grow and become what it is today—a school with strong values and incredibly professional people."

    — Cecilia Silva

  • "Our 18 months old daughter started this year and the experience for both her and us has been amazing. The team looking after the little ones is very caring, patient and professional. They take their time for a smooth integration, the communication with parents is easy and the Montessori pedagogy is well implemented. They sent daily updates and pictures. My daughter loves it there!"

    — Amelie Van De Pol

  • "A team of highly professional educators, kind people who are very approachable. You can feel the Montessori spirit the moment you walk in—highly recommended.

    — Joan-Ignasi Casanovas-Permanyer Planadecursach

  • "We wanted a school that taught in English and we knew almost nothing about Montessori. But when we came to Nido de Gran de Gracia we were convinced by everything. The methodology that trusts in the child, giving them freedom and working on their autonomy from a very young age, including domestic chores. The concept of the accompanying guide in learning, as opposed to the teacher who imposes in a desk school. Discipline through dialogue. The materials are very attractive and appealing to interact with; for example, learning mathematics is very easy if you can touch the numbers, it does not require acts of faith. And the environment, adapted to its users down to the smallest detail and aesthetic (we think that you also have to educate in good taste). Our daughter has grown up with the centre, first at Nido and then at Barcelona Montessori School, attending Infant Community, Children's House and now third year of Primary. She has been happy from the first day and we feel that she is progressing as expected, both in terms of language and subjects."

    — Silvia and Jorge, parents of Estela

  • "Our children have been in the school since 2018, when it was a small nursery in Gràcia. Their learning and emotional growth has been well supported over the last 5 years. As a parent, I value the love for learning I see in my children everyday, along with their curiosity for the materials and the opportunity they have to be in charge of their own learning. The school's strong points are the emotional support and "learning for life". At the same time, the commitment and involvement of the teaching staff is very high. This can be seen how they know the children and their families and the individual follow-up for each student throughout the"

    — Laura, Mother of Vera and Oliver

  • "Our oldest daughter joined the school before it was called Barcelona Montessori School, at Nido, 6 years ago. Our second enrolled at 3 years old and our 18 month daughter will begin in a few months. We wouldn't commit if we weren't fully convinced we're offering our kids a multi cultural and kid centered education."

    — Coralie and Alexandre, parents of Josephine, Marin and Philippa

  • "Very good school. 100% Montessori. Very kind staff and excellent teachers. My son has been attending since he was 16 months old and is completely trilingual."
