June in Varo 6 - 9

This month has been short, but intense. The children have been finishing all their tasks and continuing to attend their lessons, although with a slightly lighter workload than in previous months.

We began the month with the much-anticipated Project Exhibition, where the children presented their research projects, which they had been working on for such a long time. Everyone was excited and nervous at first, but they soon began to enjoy the experience, proudly sharing their posters and models with their peers and families.

It is important to highlight that completing a research project in Primary requires a great deal of effort, especially for those children who have never undertaken one before. Choosing a topic, finding information, selecting the most relevant facts, and presenting them in a meaningful way is not an easy task for our younger learners. As children grow older, their research, writing, and comprehension skills continue to develop, allowing them to take on more complex challenges and deeply work.

For this reason, I would once again like to acknowledge and celebrate the massive effort, dedication, and perseverance that all the children have shown throughout this process. Every child has undertaken a valuable learning journey and should feel proud of all they have accomplished.

Afterwards, many of the children had the opportunity to experience our annual event overnight trip (Colonias). This year was full of fun and adventure in a beautiful setting, where the children took part in a wide variety of activities and enjoyed spending time with their friends. These trips are incredibly valuable experiences that every child should have the opportunity to enjoy. At this stage of their development, children need to socialise, connect with the natural environment, discover more about themselves, face new challenges, and learn from living and working alongside others. I would like to encourage all those children who were unable to attend this year to consider joining us next year, as these experiences create lifelong memories and valuable learning opportunities that are not easily forgotten.

We then enjoyed the Cantata performance, where the children demonstrated their singing abilities in Catalan, a language that many of our students are still in the process of learning. I would like to thank all the families who were able to attend and enjoy this special event with us. The children worked hard to prepare for the performance, and it was wonderful to see their efforts rewarded.

During the following three days, the children from Children's House had the opportunity to experience what life in Primary is like. The older students were assigned buddies whom they were responsible for guiding, supporting, and helping throughout the experience. It was a pleasure to share these days with them and observe how the older children demonstrated responsibility, empathy, and leadership while caring for others. At the same time, it was great to see the younger children following instructions, adapting to new routines, and becoming familiar with what will soon be their new learning environment.

And finally, the day of the End of the Year Party arrived! A huge thank you to the FAB Club for organising this event that brings our community together. It was a fantastic opportunity for families, children, and staff, to celebrate another successful year, create lasting memories, and enjoy each other's company. Events like these remind us of the strength and warmth of our school community, and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success.

Finally, I would like to say a special goodbye to the children who are moving on to Upper Primary. It has been a true pleasure to share the last three or four years with them, watching them enjoy their learning journey and, at the same time, helping me grow and discover myself as a teacher. Children are truly some of the best teachers we could ever have! We will miss you very much, but we are excited to see all that you will achieve in this next stage of your education. Please remember that you will always be welcome to come back and say hello whenever you would like. We look forward to hearing about your new adventures and celebrating your future successes.
