June in Bru 9 - 12
To quote the children, (who are quoting YouTube shorts, who are quoting Adele,) “This is the end. Take a breath and count to ten.” As we breathe in the warm summer air, it is a full circle moment. The heat is the same as last August, but now the classroom is being deconstructed; we have an academic year of instruction, research, excursions, and growth under our belts; and instead of strangers, we know each other profoundly. I want to extend my gratitude for all of you who accompanied me and your children on their learning journey this year. Moltes gràcies. It is the school-parent partnership that truly makes this breadth of learning possible.
We have truly ended the year on a high note: The science fair was a triumphal experiment in child ingenuity and diversity of exploration; Colonias was a resounding success with fun activities, group bonding, and typical good-natured Upper Primary antics; and we welcomed the rising Upper Primary students to visit and work, which added fresh energy and excitement to the class.
As everyone spreads out around the city and the globe for summer holiday, please consider keeping your child’s cursive fresh with a postcard to BMS, Bru-Dolz (Brolz?) Upon returning in the fall, it will be a great geography experience to map everyone’s travels.
