Celebrating a Year of Growth in Ferrer

As we reach the end of the school year, it is a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on the many ways our children have grown—not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and as valued members of our classroom community.

One of the highlights of this final month has been the children's work on their portfolios. Looking back through their collected work, they have been able to see their own progress, celebrate achievements, and recognize how much they have learned and developed. The portfolio process encourages children to take pride in their efforts and become more aware of their own learning journey.

An important aspect of being in a mixed-age classroom is learning to be role models. This year, many children embraced opportunities to support younger classmates, demonstrate responsibility, and lead by example. Through these experiences, they discovered that leadership often begins with simple acts of care, respect, and encouragement.

Our relationships with our Children's House buddies—our soon-to-be transitioning Year 2 students—have also been a meaningful part of the past two months. The children have enjoyed spending time together, sharing experiences, and building connections across age groups. These moments help strengthen our sense of community and remind us of the values of kindness, patience, and friendship.

Moreover, as some of our older students prepare to transition into the 9–12 environment, we celebrate this important milestone with excitement and confidence. They leave the Lower Primary Ferrer Community with a strong foundation and many cherished memories. We know they are ready for the new challenges and opportunities that await them.

Throughout the year, and especially over the past two months, we have continued to practice calming and grounding activities such as yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. These moments of stillness have helped the children develop self-awareness, focus, and emotional regulation. It has been rewarding to see them increasingly use these strategies independently when they need a moment of calm or reflection.

We will also cherish the memories of the many exciting experiences that marked the end of the school year. The overnight trip offered opportunities for adventure, cooperation, and creating lasting memories together. Likewise, the Cantata concert was a beautiful celebration of the children's hard work, creativity, and joy. Their dedication during music classes and rehearsals culminated in a performance they were proud to share with their families and our wider school community.

As we close another wonderful year, we would like to thank all of our families for their support, trust, and partnership. It has been a privilege to accompany your children on their learning journey. We wish everyone a restful summer filled with joy, exploration, and time together, and we look forward to seeing many familiar faces again in the new school year.

Warmly,

Paulina & Alexandra
