May in Varo

This month in Varo we have been very busy! Besides the lessons we are already used to, the children have worked very hard to finish their projects on time… and they did it!

They managed to organise themselves and put the final touches on their projects, and everyone is very excited about presenting their posters with all the information they have collected, as well as the models they have created. This Tuesday, June 2nd, we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy all the amazing work they have done.

We have also continued working on spelling, a very important activity that requires daily practice and helps children develop skills such as writing, reading, and comprehension. From working on phonics and tricky words in pairs to creating sentences together as a group, spelling practice is a motivating activity in which children compete with themselves, learn that mistakes are part of the learning process, and understand that effort brings its own reward: the personal satisfaction of achieving something by themselves.

We had a lovely surprise when Nico brought his new chicks for the children to observe, touch, hold, and watch while they were eating. It was a very nice moment for everyone, and they were absolutely adorable!

We also had the opportunity to enjoy our class concert, a special moment when those who wanted to could play an instrument, sing, or dance in front of all their classmates. We would also like to mention that we have been working very hard on the cantata. We have been practising a lot and, in general, the children are very excited about living the experience on Monday 8th of June.

Those who were once the youngest children in the class are now the oldest, and it is their time to move on to Upper Primary! They were very excited to hear the news that next year they will all be together in the same class, while also having two different classrooms where they can choose to work. They are delighted with this decision! These children have been wonderful role models and references for the younger ones, so we would like to thank them for all the effort and care they have shown while helping others throughout the year. We will miss them very much and we wish them all the best in this new stage of their journey.
