A Special Night for Our Primary Graduates

On June 11th, our Year 7’s enjoyed one of the most anticipated traditions of their final year in the Montessori Primary Program: a special overnight stay at school and an after-school outing shared together before graduation.

This year, our 9 graduates spent a wonderful evening accompanied by Fedra and Nuria. After dismissal at 16:30, the group headed to Pedralbes Bowling and Arcade for an afternoon of fun and friendly competition. Everyone gave their best effort on the bowling lanes, and some students even managed to score impressive strikes! More importantly, the atmosphere was full of encouragement, with both teams cheering one another on and celebrating each other's successes.

Back at school, there was still plenty of energy left for a few more games while we waited for some delicious pizzas to arrive. As the evening progressed, the children prepared their sleeping bags and pillows and settled in for a cozy movie night. As one might expect, the excitement of spending the night at school made it difficult to fall asleep, and bedtime stretched well past midnight!

The following morning, the children woke up to a lovely breakfast prepared by our school cooks, Loida and Elodie. It was a wonderful way to begin the day and bring the experience to a close.

The bowling outing and pizzas were funded through the children's own efforts, thanks to the bake sales they organised at both the Pomaret and Esperança campuses during the previous weeks. Their initiative, responsibility, and teamwork helped make this celebration possible.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing how supportive, caring, and friendly the children were with one another. As they prepare to move into our Adolescent Program next year, experiences like this one help strengthen their relationships and deepen their sense of belonging to the group. It is clear that they are already beginning to embrace this new stage of their journey together.

As Montessori educators, we often speak about the importance of community, collaboration, and growing independence. This special evening was a beautiful reflection of all three. We are incredibly proud of this group of graduates and grateful to have shared such a memorable experience with them. We wish them all the very best as they take their next steps and continue growing into capable, thoughtful, and compassionate young people.
